Fairfax County Real Estate & Information

Fairfax County offers something for everyone. Fairfax has a population of over 1 million. Fairfax has a diverse array of business, arts, community events and other activities.  Fairfax County has many towns and these towns are also divided into communities. Some of the towns in Fairfax are Falls Church, Alexandria, Vienna, Mclean, Reston, Chantilly, etc. Each of these towns and communities have their own unique flavor and personality.

Traffic is always an issue here but we are still hopeful that the Metro (this section would called the Dulles Metro Rail) will be extended through Tysons Corner bringing both additional business and easing of the commute for many. There has been much discussion and controversy regarding whether the rail should be above or below ground and funding for the project. The current start date for the project is March 2009. You can read more about this at http://www.dullesmetro.com/

Some of the top employers in Fairfax are Booz, Allen, Hamilton, Lockheed Martin, George Mason University, SAIC and the US Department of Defense. Fairfax is also a short commute into DC. Don´t be surprised if you see politicians and political types (our celebrities) around town. Among others, I´ve waited in line for a bagel with Ken Starr and seen Colin Powell driving around.
